Someone Else

Why I went Missing.

Yes, it has been very quiet around here lately, for a couple of reasons. Firstly, I wanted to take a bit of a break and relax some after leaving the MVP scheme, and secondly, I just haven't had much to say.

I am hoping to do a quick review of my thoughts on Windows Vista, but so far, every time I've sat down and tried to use that steaming heap of crap for long enough to actually write about it, it has managed to make me so mad I can't write any more. I'm going to *try* and grit my teeth and get some thoughts done though.

As you probably can guess, my review probably won't be the glowing review that the Microsoft PR department would like, and nor will my review be written on one of those tacky-looking ferrari notebooks.

For now, I'll leave you with yet another link to Peter Gutman's cost analysis of DRM in Windows Vista.

I am still trying to get my head around some of the materials to plan for distribution and administration ... and I am not too happy with it.

I will be rolling out a small number of laptops for sixth form use ... but I need to sit down with Mark A'Bear and go through some stuff again. I am just not happy with it and I am struggling to find educational benefits to swap over.

Well we're running evaluation copies at the moment and I too am struggling to find reasons to switch. Plenty of reasons not to, however.
